Liu Kang was born in China and entrusted to the Shaolin Monks hidden Wushi Academy as a child. The one of the School's two most prominent students alongside his lifelong friend Kung Lao, Liu has been charged with locating The Evil Shaolin defect Shang Tsung and bring him to justice. Believing Tsung to be one of the hand pulling the strings at the latest Street Fighter Tournament. While Liu is committed to his task above all else, He can't seem to pass up the opportunity to challenge some of the Greatest Fighters the world has ever known. Particulary the one named Ryu.
Liu has all his basic moveset from Mortal Kombat alibeit with the certain Street Fighter touch

Shaolin Soccer- Liu Uppercuts him opponent into the air with a power uppercut then leaps up and overhead kicks him/her across the stage right into a wall.
